About the role
The new role of Head of Environmental Health Workforce Programme is critical in delivering our work to ensure that CIEH is the lead organisation in developing a sustainable approach to the environmental health workforce in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. And, crucially, that the approach defined and implemented gives the profession the best chance of securing a thriving, resilient workforce.
Our members are passionate about the difference that environmental health makes to people's lives everywhere, every day. Your role will be to agree definitions and scope of the environmental health workforce, work with partners to develop workforce strategies in all nations and then develop and support the implementation of workforce action plans.
About You
You will be a senior manager with an understanding and experience of the environmental health profession and are dedicated to the positive impact we can have. You will have operated at a senior level, shaping policy and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including those in both local and central government. A genuinely collaborative operator, you will also be able to work with and influence others. You will be passionate about advocating for the environmental health profession, bringing to this role your own commitment to ensuring that CIEH delivers positive outcomes in favour of the environmental health workforce.
